Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to browse or post a report?

No. Browsing the board and submitting lost or found reports is free and open to everyone. An account is only needed when you want to chat in the app.

How do I contact someone about an item?

Open the item and tap “Chat in app” to message the reporter securely, or use the phone contact shown on the listing once a conversation has started.

How do rewards work?

When reporting a lost item you can offer a reward. You choose whether the amount is shown publicly or kept private — people will still see that a reward is offered.

What happens when my item is found?

Mark the listing as resolved from your profile's “My listings” page. It leaves the active board but the page and conversations remain available.

Can I get a police report for a lost item?

Yes. After submitting a lost report you can generate a printable police loss report with a reference number to take to your nearest police station.

How-to guides

Report a lost item

  1. Tap “Report Lost” and fill in the item details, location and date.
  2. Add a clear photo if you have one — it greatly improves recovery chances.
  3. Submit and generate your police loss report for official records.

Report a found item

  1. Tap “Report Found” and describe what you found and where.
  2. Avoid sharing unique identifiers publicly — confirm them privately in chat.
  3. Arrange a safe, public handover once the owner is verified.

Stay safe when meeting

  1. Meet in a public place such as a police station, mall or busy market.
  2. Bring a friend and let someone know where you are going.
  3. Never pay a “recovery fee” to strangers before seeing the item.
